Fried Cheese

Using a hard cheese, haloumi or bread cheese work best, but aged mozzarella and hard cheese like cheddar also work if frozen first. Heat some fat to frying temp, bacon fat is great. Drop cubes or strips of cheese into the fat and fry until golden brown.

I warn you, fried cheese is addictive!  I don’t say that lightly; for some people even fat from dairy can have that addictive quality, so beware.

Enjoy this as a special treat  along with a few berries.
